Bever scouts / seals
Bevers
6 - 7 years old
Theme
Beavers often use a fixed theme. The story is set at a beaver pond and is available at the FOS-office, translated from English (Scouting Canada).
World of experience
Age: from 6 to 7
A child of this age is highly self-centered. All the same, a little Beaver gradually passes on to experimental exploring games with children his age. He discovers that everyone - just like himself - has their own individuality.
His fantasy builds its own reality. Through this 'imitation world' he explores the 'adult world' and what he is unable to do himself, his father manages, because 'My daddy is the strongest!'
Working method
Beavers mostly play, in the basic meaning of the word. The game is as real as it can be ...
Leaders try to project themselves into this world of experience through group work, stimulation of the exploration of the individual, attitudes, social behaviour and contacts ...
This working method consciously differs from a kind of 'pre-cubbing'. No Six, salute, law, or promise. Six or patrol working surpasses their social abilities.
