Explorer Scouts / Junior Scouts
Verkenners/Gidsen - Juniors
14 - 16 years old
Theme
There is no specific theme, but we look for subjects that help Explorer Scouts / Juniors in their search for themselves and their place in the world.
World of experience
Age: from 14 to 16
The Boy Scout discovers that the Girl Scout isn't that affected and she notices he is no longer all that childish.
In a word, the adolescent pays attention to the opposite sex.
Both become conscious of their environment and society, hatching huge plans and eager to make them a success. Their uncertainty is balanced by a unity with their age group. They don't evade challenges and want to try out and test anything.
Working method
The Explorer section is divided into patrols and is run by the Council of Honour, attended by the troop leaders. They restrict their contribution to suggestions and advice. Their guideline is the Scout law.
Usually the patrol has 6 to (max) 8 members, who advise the composition and assignment of PLs and APLs and get them appointed by the Council of Honour. There are patrol symbols and they have their own council, marches, camps, cash, name, room or corner ...
The Council of Honour (troop leaders + PL's + APL's) runs the troop and acts as a training patrol to give PLs and APLs a more profound education.
