Junior Scouts / Trainees
Jongverkenners/Jonggidsen - Aspiranten
11 - 13 years old

Theme
The working method of the Junior Scouts / Trainees is not based on a specific theme. But that need not stand in the way ...
World of experience
Age: from 11 to 13
A social pattern is already clearly visible: starting small gangs, building secret campsites, working out and experiencing the most exciting games ...
Selfishness still exists but the idea of teamwork develops: a scout doesn't only participate for himself but also for the group.
These pre-adolescents' fantasy is expressed in the invention of something new within organised play situations. Their interests develop and they hunger for all sorts of information: collecting stamps, books and articles about space or fish, stickers of football players ...
Girls think of the opposite sex as childish or impudent, while boys consider 'dames' affected and giggly.
Working method
Small groups arise automatically and we use this to split up patrols in consultation with them. We also take into account the existence of informal as well as formal leaders (PL's or Patrol Leaders). Activities and games fit in with the youngsters' many interests and we help them to become self-reliant, to be communicative and to make a well-grounded choice with and for each other.
